Crime Victimization

Child Abuse & Maltreatment

Child abuse and maltreatment are complex problems rooted in unhealthy relationships and environments. Preventing child abuse and maltreatment requires a comprehensive approach that influences all levels of the social ecology, community involvement, relationships among families and neighbors, and individual behaviors. Effective prevention strategies focus on modifying policies, practices, and societal norms to create safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments.
